Job Title: IBM Integrations Engineer

Location: Remote (Must be located in Central or South America)

Job-Type: Contract

Employment Eligibility: Gravity cannot transfer nor sponsor a work visa for this position. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer directly (we are not open to contract or “corp to corp” agreements).

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Senior API Developer with deep expertise in IBM integration tools to join our team during a major modernization and system integration initiative. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience developing scalable, secure APIs using IBM API Connect, App Connect Enterprise (ACE), and DataPower Gateway.
This is a remote opportunity open to nearshore and offshore professionals. Working hours will primarily be 9 AM to 5 PM EST, with availability required at 11 PM EST once every two weeks for maintenance and support duties.

Responsibilities
New API Development (85–90%)

• Design and develop APIs from scratch using IBM API Connect and ACE.
• Ensure secure, scalable, and efficient integrations between enterprise systems including SAP, Salesforce, and IBM applications.
• Implement security best practices across all API interfaces.
• Create documentation and reusable assets to support API adoption across internal and external partners.

Production Support (10–15%)

• Monitor and troubleshoot live APIs and integrations.
• Provide timely support for production incidents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and data flow across systems.

Required Technical Experience

• IBM API Connect: 7–8+ years of hands-on development experience.
• IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE): 7–8+ years of hands-on development experience.
• IBM DataPower Gateway: 3–4+ years of hands-on development experience.
• Proven experience in full lifecycle API development, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API principles, security protocols (OAuth2, JWT), and enterprise integration patterns.

Additional Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in complex enterprise environments.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team.
• Flexibility to occasionally support after-hours deployments and maintenance (every two weeks at 11 PM EST).
