Job Title: Payroll Supervisor
Location: Salt Lake City, UT (onsite)
Job-Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $105K – $115K
Referral Fee: $2,500

Position Overview:
As the Payroll Supervisor, you will join and lead and established team of payroll professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for payroll (hourly and salary) for employees throughout the United States. You will ensure payroll accuracy (on time, in compliance with government regulations, etc.) and function as the subject matter expert for all things related to payroll. You will work with the Payroll Manager and HRIS Manager to create a vision for the payroll team and implement strategies that support the goals for the Human Resources department and the company as a whole. You will provide effective leadership, mentoring and guidance to team members to accomplish functional responsibilities. Additionally, this position is focused on identifying opportunities for payroll process improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and own the entire payroll process and daily workflows.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Process payroll for employees located in multiple states (both hourly and salary), ensuring adherence to different state-specific requirements.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Ensures GL accuracy and understands how payroll impacts the P&L and explains changes to management.
- Reconcile PTO liability with accounting system.
- Train new payroll employees.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 5+ years’ experience in multi-state payroll.
- 2+ years in a supervisory role – leading managing, coaching, mentoring a payroll team.
- Current knowledge in the preparation and filing of payroll tax and other requisite forms.
- Deep understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Experience payroll systems (UKG experience preferred).
- Proficient in using payroll software and MS Office applications, with advanced Excel skills.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, HR, or equivalent work experience.
Nice to Have Experience:
- Experience working with UKG Pro/UltiPro.
- Any experience or understanding of General Ledger policies/practices.
